In practice
Testing first is the whole job
Upholstery is where cleaning goes wrong most often, because fabric varies wildly and the label on the underside is frequently missing or ignored. Some covers take a full wet extraction happily. Others shrink, watermark or bleed dye the moment they get too wet.
So we test in a hidden spot before anything else happens — an inside seam, the back of a skirt, underneath a cushion. That five minutes decides whether the suite gets a wet clean or a low-moisture one, and it is the difference between a sofa that looks new and a sofa with a tide mark across the arm.
Arms, headrests and the front edge of the seat are where the wear actually shows: hands, hair and the backs of knees. Those get the attention, not just the flat panels that already look fine.

Scope of work
What the job covers
Written down so there is no argument about it later. This is the list our cleaners work through on site.
Checked first
- Label and filling identified where we can
- Test clean somewhere hidden before committing
- Dye stability checked on every colour in the fabric
- Frame, feet and stitching looked over
- Existing damage pointed out before we start
- Wet or low-moisture method chosen from what we find
Where the wear is
- Arms and the tops of arm fronts
- Headrests and the oil that collects there
- Seat fronts and the edge behind the knees
- Between and beneath every cushion
- Piping, buttons and seams
- Skirts and anything that touches the floor
Items we take on
- Two and three seaters, corner and modular suites
- Armchairs, recliners and footstools
- Dining and office chairs by the seat
- Mattresses, single through to super king

Answers
About this service
Ring us with anything that isn’t here.
Will the sofa be usable that night?
Nearly always. Low-moisture work is touch dry within a couple of hours; a full wet clean on a heavy fabric may want longer. We tell you which yours is before we start.
Can you clean velvet?
Yes, and it is one of the fabrics where testing matters most. Velvet and chenille can water-mark badly if they are treated like a standard weave. Handled properly the pile comes back up beautifully.
Do you clean leather?
Our pricing here is for fabric. Leather needs a different product and a different approach, so ring us and describe it rather than booking it online.
Why clean a mattress?
Sweat, skin and dust mite waste build up in the top few centimetres of a mattress over years. Extraction pulls a surprising amount of it out. Strip the bed before we arrive and allow drying time before you make it up again.
My suite has a bad mark on one cushion. Worth it?
Possibly — but if only one cushion is marked, cleaning that alone will make the rest look tired by comparison. Cleaning the whole piece usually gives the better result for not much more.
Do you do pub and restaurant seating?
We do. Fixed booth and banquette seating is a regular job for us, and it is normally done outside opening hours so the room is ready for service.
